I knew that people that wasted their time fixing imports liked immature girls, but come one. I guess her family doesn’t mind.

Joaquin Phoenix is playing some major roles in major movies. I personally like the man’s style and presence. I believe is portrayal of Johnnie Cash and other movies have been great performances. So, I will have to admit I was surprised when he said he was retiring last October from acting to become a musician. Joaquin supposedly set up the act itself to become a rapper by growing a beard, changing his style and performing in Las Vegas. The show was a setup with Big Ben’s little brother Casey taping the whole thing. It turns out Casey is Joaquin’s brother-in-law and knew about the hoax.

Kimora Lee Simmons, the former 10 year wife of hip hop mogul Russell Simmons is pregnant again. This time it is with actor Djimon Housnou. The owner of Baby Phat already has two daughters with Russell. She divorced Russell in late 2008 so I guess she wasted no time. Maybe it’s because she is 33 years old and feels her biological clock is ticking. Either way, I don’t know the new guy but I think Russell is stand up guy.

It seems as the economy has affected every wealth class in America. Disney/ABC have publicized the need to cut off hundreds of workers in addition the already ESPN layoff earlier this month. Even Stephen Spielberg, who is opening a new DreamWorks studio, is having a difficult time receiving capital to fund the venture. JP Morgan Chase has raised his total to about half the necessary amount of $325 Million Dollars.

I don’t know about the rest of you but I am super excited for the return of 24. It had been postponed and I hope that they have made Jack’s action shots better with the extra time. I wonder if the show had scheduled the new episodes with the woman president to align with Obama taking over the reigns. Since many people put Obama and Hillary along the same plane. Let’s just say that I predict CTU will make a hit in 2009.

Heath Ledger passed away this week as a result of incidental prescription drug overdose. The actor was the infamous Joker in the new Batman flick “The Dark Knight” Many close to him say that his involvement with the character of the Joker led him to abuse the painkillers and become a little bit crazy. After seeing the movie, I can believe it. It might as well be the best performance in the movies I have seen in a long time.

Luke Skywalker’s original light saber used in the original Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back sold at auction for $250,000. A Los Angeles company sold the saber and estimated it’s value at $180,000. I just imagine the loser sitting in his parents basement with the thing.

I wanted to touch base on a classic movie that I recently watched with the benefit of high definition. I still it it amazing that these classics can be reworked to a point where I can see the blood flowing through Arnold’s veins while he chases the translucent predator. While reviewing, I laughed when I came to the realization that another former movie star turned governor shared the spotlight (Jesse Ventura.) Do you think they talked about leading governments in the future while taking on the difficult task of containing the deadliest alien in the 80’s (to be debated.) My next thought turned to how they actually ended up killing the beast. I knew it involved a ditch and tree but I forgot about Arnold’s intuition to wedge the stick and somehow develop a pulley system. I guess that’s why he is Governor of the wonderful state of California and I am writing this blog. Basically, take a Sunday and watch the high def version of Predator, it’s well worth it.

Has anyone seen the new show on Animal Planet “Whale Wars?” The controversial show follows Captain Paul Watson and a bunch of eager activists attack, harass, and chase Japanese whaling ships in Antarctica. Watson began the Sea Shepherd in 1977 after he co-founded GreenPeace to take a more proactive approach to protecting whales. The show becomes more like 24 as late night boardings and stink bombs generate controversy. The Japanese have even started disbursing decoy ships to throw the Shepherd off course. Either way, check it out.

I got, I got, a handful of Bling shine. About 150 lucky witnesses will gather in Malibu on Saturday to view Natasha Bedingfield and California businessman Matthew Robinson tie the knot. The event will take place at the upscale Church Estates Vineyards in Malibu. The engagement was first released by Bedingfield herself on September 8th. I don’t know about anyone else, but 6 months is not much of an engagement. Howver, I have a funny feeling that she may be unlike the others and actually make this thing work. All I know is i’m glad this summer will bring new one-hit songs as I have a headful of headaches from the radio.
